Who are we?
The group was been formed to meet the needs of sea kayakers based in the South East of England (Kent, Sussex and Hampshire). The ethos of SESK is one of informality. It is not a training group, it does not have a committee, there are no rules, no membership fees and a minimum of bureaucracy. SESK is an informal group of friends who kayak together. It is expected that those joining us will have previous paddling experience, i.e. at least be able to keep their 'bum in the boat'. There may also be some trips that will only be open to paddlers with a higher level of experience.
Sea kayaking is an assumed risk sport. Trips will be arranged by members of the group who have either experience or qualification. But no liability is assumed, and you take part at your own risk. Trips may be modified to suit the prevailing weather conditions and the group's ability.

Low impact camping "Take nothing but photographs - leave nothing but thanks". Not a bad philosophy.
But how does the principle of low-impact apply to us kayakers? |
