Round Britain Kayak Expedition

In early May, Richard Atkinson (an SESK paddler) left Spey Bay to paddle solo and unsupported around the coast of Great Britain. He aims to be back at the start point by September

Some of you know Richard and I am sure will join us in wishing him every success with this adventure.

On Tuesday 18th June, he reached Eastbourne after 6 weeks paddling and we met up with him at Normans Bay. After a quick shower and change at Nigel's, we escaped to the pub to catch up on the stories of his trip. On Wednesday Paul joined him for the paddle along Eastbourne seafront, up to Beachy Head.

Richard completed his trip on September 4th.

Richard did this trip without a sponsor and hoped to raise awareness (and cash) for the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society. A full report of his trip so is on their web site, www.wdcs.org. He is now in Spain doing an MBA.
